Malaysian Layered Desserts #1

by Choo Teck Poh

First of all, I'd like to thank Farid and Ji-Young for inviting me to participate in this multi-blog. I've immensely enjoyed myself reading contributions from you and your other  blog members...learning so much in this 'one-stop-blog'.

Malaysia is made up of many races, the main ones being malay, chinese and indian. It's so interesting how we learn to respect and observe each other's differences and culture, resulting in harmonious daily living. To reflect our colorful life, I'd like to start a short series of malaysian desserts which come in layers. The first one is a rainbow jelly, which is a misnomer, because it's actually made from agar-agar. This is one of our favorite desserts as it's so refreshing for our hot and humid climate.
